we provide appropriate, effective, efficient healthcare to our patients.
Ethembeni Care Centre has established a strategic relationship with Ngwelezane Hospital. The organizations have combined their efforts by means of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that allows for larger capacity in the following areas:
Permited number of patients
Highest patient intake
Percentage of patients transferred
from Ngwelezane Hospital
Ethembeni Care Centre runs a vegetable garden that provides fresh vegetables to patients. Fresh produce is also sold to the local community by the center, which helps to pay for the smaller daily operations of the center. Ethembeni Care Centre has built strong relationships with the community. This relationship has proved fruitful as the community supply manure for ploughing and the centre then sells the fresh produce.
The Ethembeni Charity Shop was opened to help the centre generate funds and is still in operation.
The charity shop helps with bringing in small funds that assist with purchasing seedlings, toiletries for patients as well as fuel for grass cutters.
